Job Purpose
The Water & Pool Operator is in charge of potable water & recreational water facilities treatment.

Key Accountabilities
•    Reporting to Hotel Engineer (Engine Department);
•    Collecting bunkering Potable Water certificate;
•    Bunker and production halogenations and pH control – taking corrective action if halogen levels fall outside of the required limits, making adjustments to the equipment, by initiating repairs, or contacting the Hotel Engineer;
•    Maintaining and ensuring the correct functioning and maintenance of bunkering and production system and distribution system;
•    Ordering spare parts (i.e. sensor, pumps, etc.) in case of malfunctioning or when required by the Hotel Engineer;
•    Cooperating with the Staff Captain assuring required standard for potable water tanks, sample cock, level measurement and manual sounding;
•    Coordinating, in collaboration with the Staff Captain, in case of contamination of a potable water tanks, the disinfection operation;
•    Potable water system chemical treatment: ensuring that free halogen residuals in the distribution system are in compliance at all times;
•    Microbiological Monitoring;
•    Coordinating and follow up results from ashore Laboratory and coordinate corrective actions if necessary;
•    Supervising water bunkering operation;
•    Monitoring the halogen levels during swimming pool and whirlpool spa operations and to ensure that the free halogen residuals in the pools and spas are in compliance at all times; taking corrective action if halogen levels fall outside of the required limits, making adjustments to the equipment;
•    Making daily entries in the Charts and logs maintained for the swimming pool and whirlpool halogenations and filtration;
•    Maintaining the necessary records pertaining the swimming pools, whirlpool spas, whirlpool tubs, super halogenations, filter backwashing, whirlpool spa daily cleaning;
•    Supervising the HK personnel for the Backwashing and super halogenations for the public whirlpools, pools and spa pools - Maintaining the necessary records;
•    Cleaning and halogenations of the air strainer, filter pump on a weekly basis;
•    In cooperation with the HK Personnel replacing sand filters as per standard request;
•    In charge for a monthly sand filter test for RWF;
•    In charge of the Backflow preventers program control and monitoring system.

Requirements
•    High school in the field of chemical, mechanic, engineering, plumbing, electronic or electrical education;
•    Specific courses related to the Public Health Management (USPHS – ANVISA – SHIP SAN) are an advantage;
•    Work experienced in chemical, mechanic, engineering, plumbing, electronic or electrical filed;
•    A good care of details, initiative and ability to work in autonomy;
•    Computer literacy;
•    Good written, spoken and technical English;
•    Availability for contracts on board of 5 months (for European) or 8 months (for Non European);
•    Being committed to Safety;
